The one day youth mental health first aid (YMHFA) course covers the key issues impacting on young people’s mental health today such as social media, peer pressure, bullying and family units breaking down. Mental health issues discussed on the course include depression, suicide, anxiety, self-harm, eating disorders, and psychosis. The course finishes with a focus on recovery and resilience, including staff wellbeing.
Course manuals and workbooks are included.
Target Audience: The YMHFA one day course was developed in response to feedback from schools that it was difficult to find time within busy school timetables for staff to complete the original YMHFA two day course. The course has been tailored for school staff but is also suitable to all those working with children and young people and their families/carers.
The YMHFA one day course qualifies you as a YMHFA Champion.
Course Provider: Cumbria’s Multi-agency YMHFA England Trainer Network The network is comprised of local trainers from a variety of backgrounds across mental health, and related professions. All members are approved and registered as Mental Health First Aid instructors with MHFA England
